I can’t count the number of bad solos I’ve heard, mostly because of how many I’ve heard come off of my own fingertips. There’s this weird purgatory in between not knowing how to solo and knowing how to solo where most guitarists reside. It’s the land of rambliness, where you go up and down pentatonic and major scales seemingly at random, or you soullessly regurgitate licks from that one Lynyrd Skynyrd song you learned a while back.
