A Country Guitar Resource Written and Illustrated by Jim Lill
In fall 2015 I was deep into my second year of touring as a Nashville musician. It was an exhausting summer of typing new phone numbers into my contacts and learning new set lists every week. I wanted to work.
During the few hours I spent not writing charts or playing shows, I put together a list of skills and tips that I used every day as a touring musician. I thought these would be helpful for the double digit number of subscribers to my brand new YouTube channel.
For some reason I thought I could draw some visuals and make a book out of these tips. So I did.
Thousands of downloads later, I’m still very proud of this book.
In 2020, I went back for the first time to fix some typos and update some opinions that have changed since the book was originally written.
This improved version is yours for free. Thanks for doing whatever got you to this page.
A lot of guitar books are dry, boring, recycled info from the 1900’s written by someone that learned guitar before the internet existed. This is a fresh take that’s geared toward players like you.
