My name is Jim Lill and if you’re reading this I’m 23+. I made this because I’m afraid of death and the process of making a music video gave me a reason to be excited for turning a year older. I can’t imagine a better way to funnel my love for country music and my skepticism of growing up than to chicken pick a telecaster in a Blink-182 song.
This song is available on iTunes. I’d love for you to have it hanging out in your iTunes library. It’d definitely reaffirm my desire to make cool stuff like this.
Here’s to the next 23 years.
I loved making this. I had the idea floating around because I just got into Blink in the past year and I was turning 23 soon. I was also trying to think of ways to con Harry into working with me on a video, and he’s the biggest Blink fan that I know. This is the first time I’ve ever been in a music video, let alone starring in it, directing it, editing it, etc. It’s definitely a labor of love. I’m really proud of it and incredibly glad that I got to do it. I’m so fortunate to be paying bills by playing guitar on the weekends, giving me the ability to do really cool stuff like this. I’m writing this at 1:10am on my 23rd birthday and I can’t believe it’s already here.
Thanks to everyone that watches this video. I really, really really, truly and sincerely appreciate it.
